Microbiota can be investigated using metagenomics and culturomics. Metagenomics allows uncultured bacteria to be identified. Culturomics is an approach that uses multiple methods, conditions, and technologies to culture yet uncultured microorganisms or to investigate them alive. Our culturomics laboratory is more than that.
We are focused on discovery, isolation, describing, annotation, culturing and co-culturing, predicting functions, and performing multi-parameter high-throughput experiments to validate our findings. We are in the process of building a well-thought-out system of the latest technologies that work together as a whole, miniaturizing laboratory systems through the use of microfluidics and communicating culture technologies with genomics, in particular single-cell genomics and its variants.
